"BharOS: A Disgrace for AOSP Veterans - An Insider's Perspective"
BharOS is a custom operating system that is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). While it may have its own unique features and improvements, it is considered by some users to be a disappointment including me when compared to AOSP. This is because it may not have the same level of stability, performance, or security as AOSP, or it may not have been developed with the same standards of quality control. Additionally, some users may have put a lot of time and effort into working with AOSP and may feel that BharOS does not measure up to their expectations.

One of the main reasons for this disappointment is the lack of innovation in BharOS. I am disappointed with IIT Madras students. It's being marketed as a different OS from Android and iOS, but in reality, it's just a rebranded version of AOSP with minimal changes such as new wallpaper and changes to certain wording. It doesn't offer anything new or groundbreaking to the market.
Just because you sync sources from AOSP, replace wallpaper, change wordings here and there and ship it without G-apps (google apps) does not mean you've created something out of the box coz you are from IIT.
Also per their press conference, they stated that it only works on Google Pixel devices for now, which suggests that they have put minimal effort into the development of the OS. It is essentially a "buildbotted" version of AOSP, which means they used Google's device sources with no significant changes.
It is also worth noting that this criticism is not directed at the IIT Madras students who developed BharOS but rather at the way they have marketed and presented the product. The media coverage they have received is not based on the technical merits of the product but rather on their association with the prestigious institute.
Even though I have my own fork, All I am lacking right now is being in IIT.
